Antique French Gilt Victorian Wall Mirror Wood Plaster 23 X 27 Frame Gold 1800s

We are pleased to be able to offer for your consideration an antique Gold Victorian wall mirror. Gold wall mirrors are a classic in French interior design. In Versailles and Paris in the North, All of the homes of means had gilded mirrors. This particular one was found in the south and its from the beginning part of the 1800s.

Made out of a foundation of wood with plaster decorations Embellishing the face and sides, it was made to replicate the large mirrors of the north. This one has clearly been handed down from one generation to another. It is still very sturdy and in good condition but there is some loss to the edges and some of the decorations. It has a French country look in that it is not as fancy as its northern counterparts. A new mirror was added sometime along its life and this one is quite clear with no flaws at all.

It is nearing 200 years old and is looking for a new owner who will appreciate it and continue to Treasure it. The mirror itself measures 16 x 20 and the frame measures 23 by 27. From our home in the French out to yours.
